Brew By Numbers - 08/03 Stout: Chocolate & Orange | 6.20 | From key-keg. A strong, black, very chocolaty beer with a Seville orange flavour. Exceptionally good. | |
Rocky Head - Head Porter | 5.50 | On keg dispense, probably key-keg. A thick, black, very full-on, hoppy and roasted (Stout) Porter. | |
40FT - Pale Ale | 4.10 | Poured from a can. Despite its name, this beer is in the Kölsch style. Very nice too. | |
Gipsy Hill - Six O’clock Swill | 6.50 | From some form of keggery. Golden and very hoppy. But this glass suffering from a slight metallic taint. | |
London Brewing Co. (Bohemia) - Upright | 4.00 | Keg beer from London Brewing’s second unit at the Bohemia pub in Finchley. A hoppy Pale Ale. |
Beer | ABV | Score | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Beavertown - Holy Cowbell | 5.60 | A black, hoppy Stout – in fantastic condition from a can. It’s hard for somebody of my generation to accept that beer can be good from a can, but believe me, it is possible. | |
Rocky Head - Imitera IPA | 7.20 | On key-keg dispense. Golden, fresh, strong and hoppy. | |
One Mile End Brew Co. (formerly Mulligans at the White Hart and then WH Brew Pub) - Blood Orange Barrel-aged Saison | 6.00 | On key-keg dispense. Lovely. Strong and orangey. | |
Redemption - White IPA | 5.90 | From a cask. Pale gold in colour. Strong and very hoppy, with pine and citrus flavours. |
Beer | ABV | Score | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Hackney - Mosaic TNT | 4.50 | The one cask beer I drank here. Has all the Mosaic hop qualities. | |
Crate - Imperial Breakfast Stout | 8.20 | On keg dispense. A huge, black, creamy, strong stout. | |
Redchurch - Broadway Black Pale | 2.90 | Low-strength, full-flavour, dark, hoppy beer. | |
Gipsy Hill - Southpaw | 4.20 | An amber-coloured, bottled beer. First impression was that this beer was a bit shocking and raw, but it really grew on me. Full of Simcoe and Cascade hop flavours. | |
Honest Brew - Straight Up Pale Ale | 4.70 | A bottled beer from this tiny brewery who are currently brewing at Late Knights in Penge. An impressively rounded Pale Ale. |
