18:00 We were walking back to the station and aiming to go via GBG pubs but happened on this place and went in as it looked intriguing. Had the old bar to ourselves and have an interesting conversation about pubs with the barman who had a lot of experience in the trade.

In The Shambles, very much a pub of two halves. The right hand bar is a mediaeval timber framed hall whilst the left is in a newer brick building. Closed from August 2021 until spring 2022. Closed again and re-opened Good Friday 2025.
