16:30 Two of our party had gone to 'Spoons to eat and after our short visit to the Bedford we came here to wait for them. I really like this place, I suspect it may get busy later on but early doors it has a very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. I took the opportunity to look at the upstairs function room, or Concert Hall, as it is described on the bell box. I couldn't get an answer as to the reason for the bathroom cabinet on the wall in the bar.

17:25 8th pub. This place caught our eye on our last outing to Balham back in April but as it doesn't open until 16:00 we had to give it a miss. Definitely worth coming back for. Not too busy but I got the impression it would be heaving later on.

Intriguing building in Ramsden Road, formerly the club rooms of the Balham Bowling Club converted into a pub in 2006. Three panelled rooms plus a restaurant. Memorabilia from the former bowling club adorn the walls. Transferred from Antic to Urban Pubs & bars in late summer 2024.
