Quiet backstreet traditional pub and with just a few in for our early afternoon visit. Prompt, friendly service with 4 local real ales to choose from.

Unexpectedly busy on a late Sunday afternoon. After a while I realised that just about everybody that had been on my morning bus from Chelmsford was now in here.

The pub is found in Maldon, Essex, CM9 5QF.

A small pub with two public rooms in Gate Street, just off the top end of the town centre. It has fifteenth century origins. There is a rear patio and some outside seats at the front. It was once the Gray's Maldon Brewery tap. Local CAMRA Pub of the Year for 2015.
