12:45 Lunch stop on our way back from Southport. Chosen (a) because of its proximity to the M6 and (b) because it has been in the Good Beer Guide for 10 years and was the local branches POTY in 2015. I have got to say that it was the most boring beer choice I have ever seen in a GBG pub, the local competition must be poor. The pub was fairly quiet, probably the fog had kept people at home. Couldn't enjoy the snug as the built in seating was being upholstered.
