Probably 20 years since I was last in here. Remarkably, the pub was doing a busy walk-in food trade at lunchtime on Christmas Day. It took me a while to remember where I knew the welcoming landlord from (answer: the Scottish Stores).

The pub is found in Leytonstone, Greater London, E11 3PX.

Established by 1881 as the Woodhouse Tavern and was tied to the Savill Brothers Brewery of Stratford, passing to Charrington in the 1920s. Closed by the 2000s and threatened with demolition, it has miraculously reopened in 2019 under this new name. It is a large pub, situated off the main road in a residential area. The pub retains its two room layout and also has some outside tables. There are three handpumps on the bar counter.

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 2 of them.
