My first visit for many years after a long period of closure and pleased to see this pub doing well for a sunny Sunday afternoon. Reconfigured and tastefully refurbished yet retaining a separate bar area for those who don't wish to dine with a newly built dining area for those that do. Disappointing beer range today which the landlady took on board and is open to offering local brews once the pub has settled in, we'll see if this improves on future visits.

The pub is found in Westwell, Kent, TN25 4LQ.

Set in rolling countryside and located in a quiet rural village in The Street this 250 year old inn was an ale house before that. Named after the wheel on which St Catherine was martyred in the third century. This pub is an ideal base for walking and provides good home cooking. Just 2 miles away from Hothfield Common that is now a nature reserve with mosses. dragonflies, orchids and other fauna and flora. Now in private ownership and long term closed. Re-opened Thursday 3rd October 2024.

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried both.
