| Marston's - Ringwood Fortyniner | 4.90 | ![]() | Presented with very good head and lacing and sticking to the end on this golden ale now brewed under contract from Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company at Banks’s Brewery in Wolverhampton. A dry bitter first bite with hints of biscuity maltiness. A bitter hoppiness with faint notes of dried fruits rising from its blend of Challenger, Goldings and Progress hops. A gentle hoppiness sliding down with the accompanying curry with touches of lemon, biscuit and toffee all getting in on the act. |
| Dorset Brewing Company - Jurassic | 4.20 | ![]() | Totally hazy and so taken back while another Jurassic recently poured for someone else in our party was clear and so this meant it was not intended to be hazy in the first place! |

The pub is found in Horsham, West Sussex, RH12 2PJ.
This rather non-descript JD Wetherspoon’s is found at St John’s House, 1 Springfield Road, in a former pine shop at the end of West Street in Horsham’s town centre and opposite the site of Shelley's Fountain* in a rather modern 4-storey bland brick building. It has the typical timeless appearance of all Spoons on the inside and is a sprawling mass of seats and pillars dotted about. Called The Lynd Cross, this is the 14th-century name for the major junction in Horsham between the roads now known as Bishopric and Springfield Road. Probably this is the best site for the Spoons as sizeable unlike many of the historic buildings of the town centre. According to the local CAMRA branch, local ales feature here and the pub hosts 'Meet the Brewer' and several beer festivals throughout the year. On a visit at the end of January 2026, it did not feature a single local one but five guests altogether which is impressive. One included "Summa That," a 5.0% pale ale brewed by the independent Branscombe Brewery in East Devon, alongside ones seen often before such as Dorset Brewing’s Jurassic, Exmoor Gold now brewed by Hogs Back Brewery in Tongham, Surrey, and Ringwood’s Fortyniner, now brewed by Banks's Brewery in Wolverhampton, following Ringwood Brewery permanently closing its historic Hampshire facility in January 2024 after its owner, Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company, failed to find a buyer for the operation. *This fountain was dismantled and removed in June 2016 due to high maintenance costs and frequent mechanical failures and the site is now a decorative planting area featuring 16 birch trees and additional floral planters. A new, permanent memorial to the poet, Percy Bysshe Shelley, who was born and raised on the outskirts of Horsham in the nearby village of Warnham, is being developed for a different location within Horsham Park.
We have visited this pub once, seen 8 different beers and tried 2 of them.
