2nd stop of this Billingshurst outing: Conveniently located in the High Street just feet from The Kings Head Inn and quiet for my early afternoon arrival. Immediate friendly service and two cask ales to choose from on the blackboard and as well to check which are the two cask but on this visit they were labelled 9 and 10 and above the two ciders which makes sense as there are said to be 8 KeyKeg also to choose from. Beware the low beams from one seating area to another and in accessing the CAMRA Sussex Drinker guides from a shelf on your right as you come in from the street.

Downlands (formerly South Downs) - Lost Weekend5.30ExcellentTold it was fresh on today and certainly exhibiting a very good creamy head on this dry stout from Small Dole in West Sussex, approximately 15 miles south-east from Billingshurst, and sticking to the plastic beaker. I was surprised a glass was not offered. I did not ask but perhaps it is because you can go out the back to the Saturday food truck and in which case that is the reasoning behind it. In any case it did not detract from my enjoyment of this ale. A berry-fruited first hit. A dry maltiness rising but balanced by the use of Eureka, a modern American hop variety. A hint of chocolate and coffee joining in, in an emerging bitterness prevailing on my taste buds. It is brewed with naked oats* and torrefied wheat** to provide a silky, thick mouthfeel that I detected. A lingering malty sweetness paddling out. Downlands was first set up as South Downs Brewery in 2011 (initially cuckoo-brewing at Kent Brewery in Birling). The company rebranded to Downlands Brewery in July 2012 when they moved into their own facility. *Naked oats are a type of oat cultivar that naturally shed their husk (hull) during harvesting and threshing, unlike conventional oats which require a separate industrial de-hulling process. **Torrefied wheat is raw wheat that has been subjected to a flash-heating process (at temperatures around 400°C–415°C) until the kernels "pop" like popcorn.
Langham - Hip-Hop4.00Not TriedLangham Brewery is located in the village of Lodsworth, West Sussex, within the South Downs National Park, and is approximately 12 miles from Billingshurst, and so another local brew at the Billi Tap.

The pub is found in Billingshurst, West Sussex, RH14 9NY.

This micropub opened in 2021 at 44 High Street, Billingshurst, and has two cask ales and eight keg lines, usually featuring several beers from Brolly Brewing from nearby Horsham and some 10 minutes by train. It has been set up in partnership with Little Monster Brewing, an independent brewery based in Chichester, West Sussex, and Brolly Brewing, established in 2017, and the latter known for producing natural, unfiltered and unfined beers ranging from traditional cask ales to modern hazy IPAs. The beer range is ever-changing. A local cider is also on offer and there is a well-stocked fridge of cans. Saturdays in particular sees food provided by food trucks that park behind the pub. Sunday sees a cheeseboard. You can also bring in pizza from The Kings Head Inn or local fish and chips or curry from Blue India and eat them in the tap. Other local breweries’ beers with an emphasis on Sussex are also stocked in the beer fridges for consumption on site or for takeaway. Closed Mondays. You can check The Billi Tap’s social media for the most up-to-date opening hours. Two cask ales available on a visit at the end of January 2026.

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
