Mid afternoon on an unseasonably cool May Thursday. A late lunch was needed-fortunately food was available,alongside an impressive range of cask beer.Friendly pub, with a good buzz.

Mid afternoon. Saw this in the GBG and headed for it after a brief trip into Bury St Eds. Worth it - good choice of ales and food. We had a late lunch in the garden and relaxed by the fountain in warm sunshine.

Ex Greene King pub in The Street, now independent since makeover in 2016. Long, roadside frontage with very large area to the rear including a patio area, pond with fountain, garden with well set out table, a large gazebo, pétanque pitches and a children’s playground.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 9 different beers and tried 4 of them.
