I read on this site that this pub had re-opened so I decided to pay a visit. Early evening on a Tuesday, just a few customers and the smell of fresh paint. A comfortable pub. We spoke to the landlord who told us that he is free of tie, and hopes to add another beer in the near future.

Reopened last Monday, states 5 real ales outside but needs to build up trade again first so for the moment just two on and Doom Bar doesn't have a pumpclip.

Sad to report today that this lovely old back street local has been shut down by Enterprise Inns. The receivers were called in on Thursday 10th November and the place boarded up the next day. This was once a gbg, 4 times, in our branch area, Maidstone & Mid Kent in 1983/2005-7. We can only hope that this pub will re-open again in time.

A very pleasant back street local, big on football but the landlord has a keen interest in his real ales. Very friendly staff too.
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original) | 4.10 | | A pleasant surprise and on good form here. |
Wadworth - Henry's Original IPA | 3.60 | | A regular ale here, I remember this one last year. Very good. |
Warwickshire - Moustache Beer | 4.10 | | This caught our eye, an ale specially brewed to raise awareness of cancer affecting us chaps. A nice ale too. |
