Busy Sunday lunchtime. Nice dinner, polish wedding on

Heritage (formerly William Worthington Brewery) - Spring Shield4.20GoodBetter than I expected, very like red shield but lighter and less citrus, just a hint of spice that was nice. Moorish

COffee again. Am I a lightweight or what? Spoke to the manager they are having a shift around of the beers, with three from the microbrewery, two other Coors bitters and one local guest (Old Cottage next week). Also a stout and porter on gravity.

Quite busy Sunday lunchtime, which was nice to see. A few people finishing their tours around the museum, but most people in for a pint and Sunday lunch
BeerABVScoreNotes
Heritage (formerly William Worthington Brewery) - Allowance Ale3.50ExcellentBeen putting trying this one off, but a real surprise. Very hoppy on the nose and bitter on the finish, a full, complete beer for 3.5% and the best one I've tried in here.

Only a few in again, shame
BeerABVScoreNotes
Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30ExcellentExcellent pint, just felt it was a tad light and not quite as bitter as a five-star pint of Landlord
Heritage (formerly William Worthington Brewery) - Brewery Tap4.50PoorOutrageously lemony aroma, like a bottle of washing-up liquid. Taste very citrussy as promised by the aroma, no head as such and quite flat. Not appalling, but not my bag

This is a pub that deserves to do well, built out of the ashes of the Bass museum and home of the Worthington microbrewery Website here: sorry messed up the entry trying to do it on my phone! http://www.nationalbrewerycentre.co.uk/brewery-tap-bar-restaurant-burton-on-trent.htm
BeerABVScoreNotes
Heritage (formerly William Worthington Brewery) - Red Shield4.20ExcellentLovely pint. Fresh and citrussy, a real session ale. NB it is 4.2% not 1.0% as on the db.
Museum - Worthington's White Shield5.60GoodAlways a battle with this beer as powerful, slightly yeasty but drinkable if a headsplitter
Heritage (formerly William Worthington Brewery) - E4.80UndrinkableQuite excited to see this "yesteryear" brew on draught but perhaps all but dead dut to it being yeasty and not amiss from the average home brew. Ugh.

The pub is found in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, DE14 1NG.

This is the old Bass Museum bar, the Centre is trying to make it more accessible by having it open to the public (rather than functions or end of the tour). It is taking quite a long time for the client base to increase but the beer choice is unusual and pleasant. Closed October 2022.

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 11 different beers and tried 7 of them.
