Early evening on a scorching July Monday. We'd come to celebrate our daughter's graduation.

A blast from the past for me.When I first came to Norwich in the 70's a lot of the pubs were still branded as Bullards, though the brewery was long closed.A good dryish bittersweet malty amber ale.

Blast! Mr Croxford beat me to this pub, though I did come here in 1975.A large group of us enjoyed a substantial meal and wondered whether ducks can perch on trees.Very busy with diners on a bleak March Thursday lunchtime.

A good dark 'un , with that seaweedy tang that I don't often find in Adnams beers anymore.

I forget how much I like this:an old fashioned bitter with an East Coast tang.
Woodforde's - Wherry

Old school:earthy biscuits.

12:30 Lunch stop after a walk around Blickling Hall gardens. My first visit since the takeover by Colchester Inns. Little changed apart from an extra guest beer. Pub was busy, all diners.

Only stopped for a quick pint, but will return to taste more of the three real ales on hand pump and a visit to their recommended restaurant.

A light refreshing wheat beer with a slightly sweet finish.
A delightful 17th century coaching inn near to the Blickling House estate and surrounded by beautiful Norfolk countryside. The interior is genuine 'olde worlde' and there is a very good restaurant. Taken over by Colchester Inns in June 2013.
We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 12 different beers and tried 8 of them.
