Lunchtime and it was roasting. The little patio area at the rear of the pub was very nice with lots of pot plants. The interior of the pub is really nice. The kind of pub to find yourself in of a dark evening.

It was very busy for late on a Saturday night but I think that was because it was someone's birthday.

This pub is beginning to grow on me. It was friendly and warm and the books on the ledge around the wall make it feel very informal

Quite busy for a Saturday afternoon I thought but then it did have a big real fire in one room and the final scores on the TV in the next.

On a cold night and after a hot curry it was good to sit down in a cosy pub and that's exactly what this is. It reminded me of a classy pub from a Dickens novel - plenty of dark mahogany and deep red upholstery.

The pub is found in Wingham, Kent, CT3 1BB.
Large old coaching house in Canterbury Road. Situated on the corner of the road (visit Wingham and you'll see what this means). Had past fame as it was used in some of the filming of the Pressburger & Powell 1944 film A Canterbury Tale where it was designated as The Hand of Glory.
We have visited this pub 7 times, seen 2 different beers and tried both.
