Very much a food operation and this was a busy lunchtime, some excellent well kept ales and good bar staff but too foody for my likes.

Very busy at lunchtime and a bit awkward to find anywhere to stand that was not in the way.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Alfred's - Saxon Bronze3.80GoodPleasant, pale golden, assertive Pale Ale. This does not meet the published descriptions of this beer and I wonder if they had their pumpclips muddled?

A nice comfortable place to relax and enjoy a decent pint of ale. Very much a food operation but drinkers are welcome, and there was a good range of ales on offer.

I escaped from the Christmas market and sat in here with my hat, on a bright but cold December late afternoon.I subsequently returned with the ladies a little later. Busy with a wide mix of people enjoying the buzz of a busy pub.
