Evening until close. I can think of nothing that commends this run of the mill house or would tempt a return visit. Booming music when people are just here to talk too.

I am a rare mid-week lunchtime drinker. But I was here to meet two former work colleagues that I have not seen for more than ten years, whilst they have been posted overseas. Surprised to find that it was table service (and service charge) in the bit of the pub where we sat.

The pub is found in Whitehall, Central London, SW1A 2HP.

A long-established Whitehall pub that attracts a good tourist trade, with its promises of traditional pub food and a traditional pub atmosphere. Popular too with local workers, although it cannot compete on price with a Wetherspoon pub that stands directly across the road. Much improved since incorporation into the Geronimo Inns chain. Long bar counter on the left upon entrance. Has an upstairs dining room. 8 handpumps in banks of 2, 2 and 4.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 11 different beers and tried 2 of them.
