Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | The first pint out was a bit warm and neglected, but overall, this had the full, expected landlord taste. | |

The pub is found in City, Central London, EC4V 3PT.
One of only three riverside pubs in the City, but often overlooked given its off-the-beaten-track location. It was established in around 1970 to replace two former pubs (the White Lion and the Kings Head & Lamb) which were demolished as part of the redevelopment of Upper Thames Street. Initially it was something of a theme pub, dedicated to the life of diarist Samuel Pepys with displays and period-costumed staff – today pretty much all of that is gone. It occupies part of the first floor of a brick-built warehouse building and has wide views of the Thames, standing directly across from Shakespeare’s Globe. The customer areas are very spacious, and there is also a small veranda overlooking the river. Has a table football machine. Acquired by Shepherd Neame in summer 2018.
We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
