The pub is found in City, Central London, EC1A 7AA.
This pub was built in around 1874 and is named for the nearby Holborn Viaduct. It was substantially revamped in 1899, in fin de siècle (gin palace) style and much of the decor from that era survives. Now all one bar, it has a high encrusted ceiling, etched glass, fine woodwork, marble and original paintings. Former prison cells can be viewed in the basement. Formerly a Meux’s Brewery pub, later Whitbread and acquired by Fuller's in 2005.
We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 8 different beers and tried 3 of them.
