Great little pub, and we were especially happy to find a dark beer festival going on. Great line-up of beer available. Disappointed there were no cheese cobs left though!

Fairly busy, nice range of customers young, old, male female. Staff frosty to say the least, but I am not local. 9 beers on. 1 stout, 1 dark, 6 pale even described as lagerish! God help us. Only 1 Amber trad bitter, so I only stayed for 1. That 1 was good. Well kept, good flavour, nice colour so that drags the score up a point. When will pubs and Brewers realise that there is still a need to provide decent English bitters and not an overwhelming flood of American pale, citrus lagerish ale?

I was first through the door after noon opening, shortly to be followed by some serious local beer-spotter types. Very nice pub.

A beautifully-preserved exterior to this pub, the extensive tiling displaying its former ownership by Holders Brewery. It is a fairly small, street-corner pub with a single bar area. Typically sells the three Black Country Ales beers, plus a free choice of up to six guest beers. Quite handy for New Street Railway Station.
