Visits Details

31 May 2017 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit to see how it was after the demise of Late Knights Brewery. Far more people out on the pavement seating than indoors. Friendly enough young persons' venue.

03 May 2015 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening until close. Chatted at the bar to a Bermondsey boy who had worked at Courage's Horselydown Brewery - "a good little earner".
BeerABVScoreNotes
Late Knights - Worm Catcher IPA5.00AcceptableI could imagine always having to ask for a top up here
Late Knights - Gyle 200 (keg)7.00AcceptableOnly worth the extra pound a pint for its strength. Fizzy thus belchy

Southwark - 5 Hop Five Hopped Blonde Ale4.50Poor1½" below brim measure was a bad start. This was the only Southwark beer I did not try on a recent brewery visit so no benchmark but this was quite hazy and intensely sour and well on the way, if not gone
Late Knights - Hop o' the Morning4.20Not Tried
Late Knights - Old Red Eyes4.50Not Tried
Truefitt - Erimus Pale Ale3.90Not Tried
02 Nov 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Sunday lunchtime visit. Rain is falling and winter seems suddenly to have arrived, missing out autumn altogether. Just a handful of customers. Four cask-conditioned beers and a host of kegs and key-kegs.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Siren Craft - Haunted Dream6.70ExceptionalBlimey. There are Pumpkin Beers and then there is the one brewed by Siren. A huge, jet black, spicy, Pumpkin Porter. Really pleased I opted for a full pint, after a taster, despite its strength. In really good condition too. Pumpkin Beer of the Year.
Late Knights - Crack of Dawn Pale Ale3.90GoodGolden/Pale Ale in slightly flat condition.
Caveman (latterly a cuckoo at Leatherbritches) - Clovis Point Brown5.20Not Tried
Late Knights - Full Moon6.40Not Tried

The pub is found in Peckham, Greater London, SE15 2ND.

A small pub converted from retail premises by Late Knights Brewery in the summer of 2014. There are five or six high tables and some benches by the window, a small bar counter and a temperature-controlled cellar area behind glass to one side. Bare concrete floor and exposed brickwork on the walls lead to a deliberately distressed look. The pub stands less than a five minute walk from Queens Road, Peckham railway station and a few doors from the site of the now-demolished London & Brighton pub. 6 handpumps fill the bar counter and there are a further 10 keg taps on the left hand wall. A customer selects his / her own glass from a shelf then orders the beer or cider from a large blackboard menu so none of the handpumps or keg taps carry badges or clips. With demise of Late Knights Brewery in August 2016 ownership and beer range changed.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 14 different beers and tried 6 of them.
