15:00 Walked in, completely empty including staff. Eventually a barmaid appeared. We had the pub to ourselves for the duration of our stay. I hadn't been here for a least thirty years, didn't seem to have changed much.

South of the town centre and located on an island between two roads. Two separate bars both with a very traditional feel. The pub name relates to the former racecourse that existed on the common opposite.
