Getting a little tired.

We enjoy Scottish traditional music and, when it was owned by Dougie MacLean, the Taybank developed a great reputation.
Today, the atmosphere seemed subdued and we were put off at the door by a proliferation of 'No' signs - you know the sort of thing: 'No children after...', 'No public toilets' etc etc. It didn't seem welcoming and with ale now at £3.50 a pint we decided to head elsewhere.

This pub has nice outdoor drinking areas and quite a few folks were taking advantage of them on this sunny afternoon. The ale prices here are very high - we were charged well over £5 for a pint and a half. The pint was presented with top 2cm missing and we had to asked for it to be topped up by the inattentive bar tender.

Sat outside. Quite busy with lots of people outside as it had been a nice day (up until we arrived). Sat outside for lunch. Service very quick and burger was good.

Everyone had a taste and agreed it was good.

Songwriters Festival here today. Here to see Sandy Black and Bob Davidson. In the extensive riverside beer garden. Free music all day. Had a very reasonably priced and tasty chicken roast dinner with veg - all freshly cooked. They seem to be very busy with food orders all day and the reason why is obvious.

Driving so could only have one drink which was a shame as I really enjoyed this and it was very pleasant afternoon to sit out listening to music and watching the Tay flowing under picturesque Dunkeld Bridge.
The pub is found in Dunkeld, Perthshire and Kinross, PH8 0AQ.
Well known music pub in a lovely wee town by the lovely River Tay and just a minute or two from the A9 if you are passing and need a stop for food and drink. Food all day including the stovie menu. Bare boards and musical memorabelia, sunny terrace and beer garden. One famous previous owner - one Dougie MacLean.
We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 6 different beers and tried 5 of them.
