Mid-evening for a meal – my first of the day I suddenly realise and decide to ‘go large’. Fairly quiet in here for a ‘Spoon on a Saturday night.

A typically large JD Wetherspoon house at the southern end of Newport’s main shopping street and within sight of the famous transporter bridge. The pub was established in 2002 in a former YMCA building. Modern décor in pastel shades. Seating is split-level, with the servery at the rear in the raised area.
