I’ve been in Brussels for three days, but my first chance to visit any sort of bar was here, where I could keep an eye on the progress of the Eurostar check-in queue.

I was early for my train and remembered Stephen Harris's comments about this place and decided to give it a try. It is certainly not a place to which I would normally visit as it mainly a cafeteria style eating establishment. Very busy at the time of my visit but I managed to get a seat inside to avoid being pestered by the beggars outside.

I have passed this bar hundreds of times over the years without ever having gone in. But tonight I am early for my train to London, but not early enough to venture further afield in search of a better bar.

| Chimay - Blue | 9.00 | | From a bottle. 2015 vintage: fresh and very well-carbonated. With the yeast and sediment all poured in (important to do this with this beer I think) it had much of the character I was beginning to think had been lost from this beer. Rich, spicy, warming and just a hint of sourness. |
