Downlands (formerly South Downs) - Best | 4.10 | ![]() | Good head and lacing on this West Sussex best bitter from Small Dole, north-west of Brighton. A bitter first hit. A hoppy note or two coming to the fore aided by its Admiral, Perle, Galena and Challenger hops. A fruity bitterness rising up and lasting. |

The pub is found in Hastings, East Sussex, TN34 1RL.
A micropub in Queens Road that opened in November 2018. The name comes from a past proprietor of the premises, when a shop, selling postcards for which he was imprisoned. A one roomer with its real ales and ciders sold on gravity dispense from a temperature controlled room. Seating is at benches and high stools along both sides of the room.
We have visited this pub twice, seen 3 different beers and tried 2 of them.
