Bit of a cheek adding this visit - I knew there would be no real ale - but there was beer at whopping £12 a pint. My wife and I settled for a Singapore Sling each and happily paid $44 (Singapore) each for the privilege of ticking one off our bucket list. Still we did get as many free peanuts that we could eat and saw some rather pissed English ‘gent’ work the antique cocktail shaker and receive polite applause. Heineken and Tiger the over-priced keg beers on offer.

About the Long Bar

The pub is found in Seletar, Singapore, 189673.

Iconic bar within the Raffles Hotel complex open to the public. Famous for its Singapore Sling and being the only place in Singapore that you are encouraged to litter - all tables and bar counters have hessian bags of in-shell peanuts - you crack open, eat the peanuts and thrown the shells on the floor. Everything else here is exquisitely clean, smart and polite. A mechanical cocktail shaker is on the bar - looking like a horizontally mounted 1930s mangle. It still works and is in use.

We have visited this pub once, seen 0 different beers and tried them all.
