This month's Friday Evening Group venue a good turnout with 11 of us just after lunchtime opening in this friendly and welcoming edge of town local. Many in already with food orders being popular given the portion size and good value offered with decent home cooked pub grub being on a par price wise with plastic fast food!
BeerABVScoreNotes
Titanic - Plum Porter4.90ExcellentA well-rounded speciality porter with a sweet, fruity nose. Notes of plum & other stone fruits are present throughout, balanced against a delicate blend of classic hops.
Crouch Vale - Yakima Gold4.20GoodEarthy aromatic and hoppy refreshing fare.
Chelmsford (also branded as Blueshack) - Blueshack Bitter3.80GoodA traditional British bitter ale brewed to be crisp and refreshing. It has a light body that doesn't compromise its moreish malty backbone.
Xtreme Ales - Bext Bitter3.90GoodA crisp, classic English bitters using Chinook hops, rounded off with a smooth Cascade hop aroma.
Georges - Wakering Gold3.80AcceptableAcetic acidic and rather syrupy, none of us knew whether that's how it's meant to taste?
