Early evening visit, two of us caught a taxi to here as it normally has a good range of ales on. Fairly busy tonight but only one cask ale on so we left.

Late afternoon visit and friendly welcome as always here, a few gathered around the entrance area but free space at the bar so we plonked ourselves there.

Packed. One of the bar staff produced some of her home made bar nibbles which included cheese and marmite twists and another one that had more than a hint of chili and was delicious.

Late afternoon visit, Je T'aime...Moi Non Plus by Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg was playing on the juke box which caused some interesting reactions from those who had not heard it before. I had a good chat with the girl behind the bar.

Early evening and busy, crowded around the bar area so I sat out the front. Friendly welcome from the bar girl who offered my a taster without prompting.

Fairly quiet but a group of people were sitting outside at the front by an open window and smoking which meant that the fumes came inside the pub. I drank up and left.

Located in The Street in the middle of the village. Originally called The Black Dog then The Hooden Horse then The Hoodener's Horse and most recently named The Little Black Dog from June 2017 where new tenants have reverted nearly to the original but added little, perhaps out of respect for their own dog!
