Evening visit and a good crowd in. It was nice to see a good range of beers on sale from the Hyde's stable.

This pub has been extensively refurbished since my last visit, the net curtains and carpets have gone, and the bar back has been restored giving a good feel of a traditional pub. Hydes have done a good job here.

A large group of us met up here before catching the 86 bus to Moss Side for a visit to Hyde's Queens Brewery which is closing later this year when Hydes move to their new plant.

Very busy and a good buzz in this small Hydes tied house.

Came in straight after visiting the Circus Tavern, a little more formal and reserved in here. Decent pub but left in search of a more entertaining place to have a beer.

The pub is found in Manchester, Greater Manchester, M1 4QX.
Small and cosy single roomed pub in Portland Street which can easily fill up. 5 handpumps on a semi circular bar counter. Very traditional and serving 4 Hydes beers plus a guest. Major refurbishment internally in 2013. Heated smoking area at the rear can often become very crowded.
We have visited this pub 8 times, seen 15 different beers and tried 6 of them.
