Have wanted to visit this pub but never found time having started from The Fat Cat end of town. The Mulberry Tree staff told me that the pub had closed permanently earlier this very day - just missed it. Sad news as it always carried a wide range of beers reported to be in excellent condition. Story of closure is readable here: http://benviveur.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/adieu-st-jude.html

The pub is found in Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1 3EW.

Brewery tap for St Jude's brewery (now decommissioned), done out in alehouse style with lots of wood and sawdust on the floor. Wide range of ales served on gravity dispense from a large cooled stillage behind the bar. Closed due to ill health of the proprietor in May 2012 but re-opened albeit with, initially, reduced opening hours in late 2012 as a Goth style bar with sawdust floor and unusual artefacts. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2014. Hours now back to full opening times.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 3 different beers and tried them all.
