Nice and quiet at lunchtime. Always a warm welcome here. The landlord actually seemed genuinely interested to learn how my Christmas had gone. (Answer: “Windy”).

A nice relaxed atmosphere in here on a Sunday lunchtime. The roast dinners smelt good, but I was satisfied with a pint and a sausage roll.

It’s easy to forget what an appealing pub this is. My first visit in ages, and it proved a good pre-match refreshment point before heading out to Wembley for the England v Holland match.

I haven't been here since October 23rd 2000 when Ian and I did a manmouth pub crawl around Bloomsbury. Luckily I was up at a conference just round the corner and had an hours lunch break. ...and here's the freaky thing, when Tristan and I got in the pub the only spare seat was the one I'd sat at the last time I came here. Anyway, this is a lovely pub with lots of green leather seating.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood3.70ExcellentSmooth with a fresh, strong, bitterness which was well balanced by sweet malt. Sank it too quickly for a more detailed analysis - sorry.

Saturday lunchtime and I met some people from Ratebeer here as it was quite central before we set off for a small pub crawl around London. Comfy leather seats and the Young's isn't bad either

The pub is found in Bloomsbury, Central London, WC1N 3LZ.

On Lamb's Conduit Street, not far from Russell Square. This is a tastefully decorated Young's pub with a central dark wood bar serving the usual brewed all around England over time Young's branded range with snob screens around the bar and plenty of little seating areas. The green leather is particularly fine.

We have visited this pub 9 times, seen 26 different beers and tried 11 of them.
