Drove up for MAMAS music night. Not as many musicians as usual - perhaps due to the wintery weather forecast. Just a small handfull of locals in although I could see through a small gap that there were a few more in the lounge bar - that is where the handpumps are - all two of them (pumps that is). Unfortunately I couldn't see what the other beer was - I just asked for Caley 80- - they always have that. I bet the other one was probably Old Speckled Hen - I have been in a few times now and never seen them serve anything else. It would be more interesting if they did a hoppy one and a malty one instead of two malty ones. Just the thought of malty beer makes me hungry - eeeee I could go a scotch egg!

I still remember drinking this about 13 or 14 years ago and I swear it had a more toasted malt and hops taste than it does now so I'll probably never give this anything greater than a 'good' - because it never matches my imagination - everything tastes worse in black and white. Still a perfectly nice pint though. |

MAMAS night. Mostly MAMAS regulars in attendance (twenty or so). A friendly and welcoming bunch, always ready to make friends with new faces.

The pub is found in Crieff, Perthshire and Kinross, PH7 3HY.
Friendly victorian public bar forming part of the Crieff Hotel. Big bar counter. Pool table. New home of the MAMAS music club (info at www.mamas.org.uk) which takes place some Tuesdays and Fridays each month. Also hosts other live music events.
We have visited this pub twice, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
