Lunchtime visit for a sandwich and a pint. Very relaxing compared with the rest of Rye which was full of people visiting the weekly market.

Early afternoon a handful of other customers dotted about in this edge of town pub. The bemused barmaid made for an entertaining atmosphere.

It was 12:45pm and the Good Beer Guide states that this pub opens at 12:00. The doors were firmly closed despite a sign saying "Come in, we're open". There was no sign of life so we moved on.
