Visits Details

01 Apr 2006 (Andrew)
Visited mid evening and found that a live act was setting up his stuff. There were a few locals at the bar and it was fairly friendly. I like the subtle use of sporting equipment on the walls rather than packing every inch with dusty sporting kit. A good pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Tring - Side Pocket for a Toad3.60GoodA light brown beer with a soft mouth feel. It had initial marigold flavours rapidly followed by a base lemon bitterness.
Church End - Banger Bitter (aka Vicar's Ruin)4.40AcceptableUmm, an interesting one. It was creamy with a well rounded flavour that tasted of very little until the finish, which was a base bitter.
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Young's London Special (was Special)4.50Not Tried
