The pub is found in Kemble, Gloucestershire, GL7 6AX.
Located a stone's throw from Kemble railway station (exit on downside - trains from London and Swindon) and the pub is straight ahead for 1 minute of walking. It was originally The Coffee Tavern which opened in the 1890s to compensate for the fact that Kemble station had no refreshment rooms. It did not become a pub until 1946 and was bought by Arkell's five years later. It has a large garden with equipped play area for children. The Tavern also offers accommodation for caravanners in an area reserved exclusively for Caravan Club members. Inside it has one L shaped bar - on one leg of the L there are cottage style wooden tables and chairs with plastic tablecloths on the tables. The pub itself is stone built and at night is adorned with an impressive outside red neon light saying "Arkells Ales". Food is served from a menu board on the wall from 6pm to 9pm Monday to Saturday with last orders accepted at 8.30pm.
