The pub is found in Walthamstow, Greater London, E17 3AX.
This pub was first licensed as the Tower Hotel in 1883 and was initially tied to Collier Brothers Essex Brewery, of Walthamstow. It later passed into the hands of Charrington’s Brewery. In 1970 the pub was acquired by Charram Ltd. and renamed Flanagan’s Tower – an early example of a theme pub, described at the time as “combining the attractions of a discotheque with the down-to-earth pleasures of a genuine London pub”. By 1986 the pub name had reverted to Tower Hotel, but retained its reputation for liveliness. Further change came in 1994 when the pub was renamed as part of the ‘Goose & Granite’ chain of budget-priced pubs. The word ‘Granite’ had been dropped from the name by 1997. Refurbished and moved a little more upmarket in 2012, the pub now features one very large room, with a chain pub appearance and menu. Very handy for Walthamstow Central station. 6 handpumps.
