My first visit since Les passed away, nothing much has changed yet but I fear it will. We were probably the youngest customers by a fair margin.

Lunchtime visit. Les showed us a picture of the old King's Head in Abbey Street which he used to run before taking over the Crown & Anchor thirty four years ago. We discussed the electric "spheromatic" beer pumps that the King's Head used to have.

My favourite of all the pubs in Faversham, a proper pub with conversation and well kept beer. The landlord was out having lunch with family so a lady was looking after the pub.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | Always good in this pub. |

Late evening. Just up the Mall past The Elephant. A few in all sitting at the bar chatting to the landlord. Guv used to run the long closed Kings Head in Abbey Street which I recalled to him had used "spheromatic" electric pumps.

Saturday lunchtime about 2.30, a few regulars chatting at the bar, and the long serving landlord in good form. The pub shuts at 3pm, my bus departed from outside the pub at five minutes past and this place was much warmer than the bus shelter, it would have been silly to stand outside.

Friendly local, I was greeted with a friendly good morning and then asked about the rain. Good group of locals in around midday, only Masterbrew on handpull.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | Copper, lasting off white head. Flowery hopo aroma, Sheps yeast. Caramel and some fruit salad in mouth, bitter tingly hop finish. Lovely. Very easy drinking session beer with more fruit than I would expect. |
