Very busy when we arrived at lunchtime. There was a warm welcome from an open log fire as well as the staff. Service was fine especially considering that there was a gathering upstairs who also needed attention.

This 17th century coaching inn has a bar area, as you enter from the road, with stools along it. There was a welcoming fire to the right with a few tables and to the left more dining tables. From this area and to the back there were some stairs through a doorway where there was a more extensive eating facility.
