Sunday afternoon for a roast dinner (which provided more than I could eat).

A late lunch in here before boarding the train back to London.

Thursday evening, and although this is a Lloyd's Number 1, the music was not loud. I took advantage of curry night, and had a curry and a guest ale for less than a fiver.

The pub is found in Hartlepool, Durham, TS24 7EU.

A typical Wetherspoon's outlet that is very convenient for the railway station and transport interchange. Modern Hartlepool, centred on Church Street and Church Square, was founded by Ralph Ward Jackson, whose statue stands in front of this Wetherspoon pub which bears his name. The new town of West Hartlepool can be said to date from 1844, when the Hartlepool West Harbour & Dock Company was formed. The following January, Jackson cut the first sod for the coal dock, which he opened in June 1847. The name 'ward room' derives from a meeting place on board ships. It links Ward Jackson and shipbuilding with this premises and the modern town, which prides itself on its marina and historic quay.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 12 different beers and tried 3 of them.
