I had been visiting a friend in the nearby hospital, and popped in here for a pint afterwards, it must be over thirty years since I was in here doing one of Shepherd Neame's passports.

Attractive looking detached building on the Ramsgate Road on the outskirts of Margate. The Orb dates back to the reign of King Henry VII in 1493 and was originally known as the Crown and Sceptre. It was renamed The Orb in 1962. The pool room is thought to be haunted and ghostly noises are often heard when the room is empty.
