The pub is found in Stafford, Staffordshire, ST16 2HL.
In Bridge Street in the town centre The Picture House first opened its doors to cinema-going public on the eve of the First World War on 23rd February 1914 with independent exhibitor Goodall Pictures. On that day, admission prices to a matinee showing of The House of Temperley ranged from three pence to one shilling. On 28 April 1930, The Picture House screened its first 'talkie'. The cinema screened films until the 1990s, it closed as a cinema on 30th March 1995 and opened as a Wetherspoon pub on 6th March 1997. Now a vast pub on several levels matching the slope of the old seating areas with the bar counter across the full width of the old screen area at the bottom. There is a street canopy made of wrought iron which has the pub's name made out in coloured glass. Two banks each of 5 handpumps sported on the counter. Temporarily closed due to flooding.
