16:30 Pub had only been open for 30 minutes and we were the first in. The Landlady told me all about both breweries associated with the pub and the beer ranges. Another couple came in and conversation ensued in true micro-pub fashion.

The pub is found in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, HG5 8AL.

Named after road builder John Metcalf this pub is a a converted shop in the market place. There are two small rooms and though a modern conversion the place has a very traditional feel. There was previously a micro-brewery on site, the Knaresborough Brewing Co, but this has now moved out of town and is on the same site as the Bad Company Brewery The pub can get very busy and a sign states large groups by arrangement.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 15 different beers and tried 4 of them.
