Friday evening with football on the television. I was allocated a spare table but did not stay as I was informed that this pub is not doing cask ale at the moment.

I’m so unlucky with my visits to this pub, where again today I experienced poor beer and indifferent service. I know I’m unlucky because everybody else thinks it’s marvellous and we are here in connection with the pub’s short-listing for a local CAMRA award.
Windsor & Eton - Conqueror | 5.00 | | Black IPA in feeble condition. Sharp and just a little sour. Just about acceptable but should be much better than this. |
Purity - Pure Gold | 3.80 | Not Tried
Purity - Bunny Hop | 3.50 | Not Tried

Busy with early evening market traders finishing up. Penultimate pub on the Angel circuit alas disappointing beer range to what was expected.

Just a handful of customers in the afternoon, watching televised cricket. Just one cask beer available.
First Chop Brewing Arm - CHA | 5.00 | | Amber-coloured, malt-led Bitter. |

I met up with Dave R here, just too late to watch the live cricket on TV. Disappointing pint.
One Mile End Brew Co. (formerly Mulligans at the White Hart and then WH Brew Pub) - Hospital Porter | 5.20 | | My pint smelled and tasted of vinegar and was instantly taken off sale when I returned to the bar. Unfortunately I was not given a choice of replacement beer but served a keg version of the same thing, which to my taste was overly carbonated. |
One Mile End Brew Co. (formerly Mulligans at the White Hart and then WH Brew Pub) - Salvation! Pale Ale | 4.40 | Not Tried

This traditional market trader pub has had a full makeover - and I feel has lost all its character. 4 pumps with only one ale on - but 3 ciders on draught. 12 different keg beers on including some One Mile End craft beers. £3.80 a pint now for ale.
One Mile End Brew Co. (formerly Mulligans at the White Hart and then WH Brew Pub) - Dockers Delight | 4.50 | | Rather bland - and the clip stated 4.2% |

2145 on a Saturday evening - the buzz of a warm Summer evening in Islington has passed this pub by - it was almost empty, scaffolding still in place and a barman who found me a distraction from his fruit machine. £2.90 a pint. Buy here and sit outside the 3 Johns to save over a pound a pint? I wouldn't dream of it.
One Mile End Brew Co. (formerly Mulligans at the White Hart and then WH Brew Pub) - Temperance | 3.80 | | A very nice pint.

Evening. Would never have attempted to search this pub out but for Stephen Harris's recent review on this site. Pleasantly surprised.
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - Wild River | 4.50 | | £2.30 pp |
Windsor & Eton - Windsor Knot | 4.00 | | £2.30 pp |

Perhaps we caught it on the wrong day, but Robert S and I were not over-impressed with this pub and we stayed only briefly. It is shrouded in scaffolding and undergoing a bit of a refurb. Friends tell me of finding a good choice of real ales from small/craft brewers here – so I think we did catch it on a bad day. On the plus side, £2:30 a pint is cheap for London.
Windsor & Eton - Parklife | 3.20 | | Low-strength beer that tasted a bit green to me. |
