After leaving The Butchers Arms we ventured for a good 15 minutes further away from Herne Bay itself and passed the Curious Cat pub which was only doing Greene King IPA. We were destined for what transpired to be a splendid microbrewery, which has two outlets in Herne Bay, the Beer on the Pier micro and The Firkin Frog micro, and whose ales I have had the pleasure of sampling over recent years. 7 real ales were on in its microbrewery's taproom where there was seating for all of us unlike just the 12 seats at The Butchers Arms. Friendly, prompt service from the two barmaids to complement our visit.

A lovely evening in the country. Really like sitting in the garden - so peaceful!

Busy, sunny, sitting on the decking in the shade listening to duo playing sixties Americana and English folk (capella).

Sunny so nice in the garden. Reused plastics but the brewer used glass for tasters, beers seemed clear.

Lunchtime. Good chat with local Alistair about micros, Herne Bay pier and the nearby bison. Beers under 4 ABV are just £3 a pint.

Afternoon- my second new pub tick of the day. Quite busy outside - I sat inside and was advised of an off-road bike route following on from the end of this dead-end road to give me a short cut home. (It was shorter in miles, but very muddy, good fun). This buildin* is know as The Cathedral apparently. Good Grief.
