The pub is found in Ghent, Belgium, 9000.
Atmospheric old bar in the centre of Ghent. The pub is famed for its enormous Kwak glasses, similar to a half yard of ale, that can only be used if the drinker surrenders a shoe to prevent them running off with the glass. The shoes are suspended in a wire basket on a string and pulley system. At the entrance a wooden frame with a series of doors shows how many glasses are in use. The stairs up to the first floor toilets are precipitous. The pub can get very busy.
We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried both.
