A busy retirement do in the cellar bar, most beers ran out at least twice during the evening.

Mid afternoon and not very busy, but a decent enough pub.

| Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Porter | 5.40 | | Not in best condition, but still one of the best beers in Britain, why it's a seasonal, I've no idea. Liquorice aroma, leads to a malty, sour fruit full bodied beer with a slightly sour lasting tarry finish. Great. Nutty too. |

Fuller's Ale & Pie House within spitting distance of Liverpool Street railway station in Middlesex Street. Attractive interior of wood and leather seats. Long wooden bar with 2 sets of handpumps. A pub with real history, The Shooting Star is a converted mansion dating back to 1896. It was designed by Barrow Emmanuel, of Davis & Emmanuel, for Anglo-Jewry’s charitable institution ‘Jewish Care’ founded in 1859. Re-named to The Astronomer in 2016.
