I loved the dark wood panelling and decor of this place, I felt really relaxed in here. It was nice to see an old Ansonia clock identical to the one in my front room.

Very busy with diners and folk dressed up for a night out. We managed to secure a small table in the corner of the front room. Also had a range of keg beers on tap. This pub is handy for the excellent Angel Lane Chippie....
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cumbrian Legendary - Grasmoor Dark Ale4.30ExcellentA tad too cold but in very good nick. Bit of choc, some autumn fruit, smooth.

15th century Grade I listed pub in Great Dockray (was Gloucester Arms) that has had an extensive sympathetic refurbishment in 2016. Famously Richard III apparently stayed here whilst work was carried out on Penrith Castle.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 7 different beers and tried 4 of them.
