Evening. This place gets better and better. It has now added a beer description tab in front of each handpump and a top shelf fully illuminated colour light shunting signal. With low prices plus CAMRA discount and Castle Rock 1 over the 8 well .........

Funny old pub this. A two room affair; one being basicish, one being more theatrical. I liked it though.

The pub is found in Derby, Derbyshire, DE1 2QE.
At one time a Shipstone's House (and later a Batemans one for a short while) and is famed for being the birthplace of the Derby CAMRA Branch in 1974. Big detached Castle Rock pub, near the river, not far from the railway station in Siddals Road. Large central bar serves 2 rooms with Castle Rock beers, guests, ciders and some continental beers. Walls adorned with lots of railwayana especially locomotive nameplates and numberplates. There is a Class 37 locomotive cab in the car park! 9 handpumps on the public bar counter.
