12:30 visit. Busy busy with visitors outside for a Monday I thought. Quiet inside at this time, but an excellent bonus for my Northern pals with the two Truman ales on?

Passing trade dominated. Sat at the back wondering how long ago it was that this was the Olive Branch with its heady days of lager-tops.
BeerABVScoreNotes
St Austell - Nicholson's Pale Ale4.00GoodReasonable condition. Pale amber beer. No real bite on the finish.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Sambrook's - London Winter Ale4.60ExcellentExcellent strong dark bitter with good toffee malt character balanced with some hop bitterness to give a full flavoured and quaffable winter warmer. My score 16/20.

The service for the last 4 times I have been has been too slow. I mean worse than in a Wetherspoons slow. Eventually I had to grab somoeone and ask if anyone was actually serving behind the bar.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brentwood - Spooky Moon3.80AcceptableOdd acidity to it, but some nutty malts.
Adnams - Southwold Bitter3.70Not Tried

Popped my head in only to see it was undergoing what looked like a major refurb.

Brilliant Nicholsons pub in heart of Canterbury. Even got a cellar run of the Adnams Abbey beer. Nothing like being recognised in a busy pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
BrewDog - Alpha Dog4.50Excellent3.8% version. Complex aroma with malt and fruit and just a very complex light ABV beer.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Hark4.80GoodSpicy pale winter beer. Bit ascetic on the hops this year
