They were hosting beer festival over this weekend so we decided to come check it out. First time I've been to this pub and I was really quite impressed. Quaint village setting, friendly staff, lovely beer garden, and very good beer. The perfect afternoon.
| Milestone - Black Pearl | 4.30 | | I really enjoyed this one. Rich and very dark. An authentic Irish stout. |
| Hop Back - Summer Lightning | 5.00 | | Light summer ale with a strong abv. Great on a hot day. |
| Hop Back - Entire Stout | 4.50 | | A strong flavoured stout. Lots of roasted malt dominate this almost one dimensional beer. Still good though. |
| Springhead - Nuts in May | 4.40 | | I was expecting a dark mild for some reason so was quite surprised when it turned out to be a pale ale. Hops and ginger with a little fruit. Really quite nice actually. |
| Hook Norton - Lion (aka Cotswold Lion) | 4.00 | | Very pale ale with a light citrus and hop flavour. |
| Woodforde's - Wherry | 3.80 | | I've heard so many good things about this one, but I've never been impressed. Bland, slightly creamy bitter. |

Fairly busy for late lunchtime, with several locals in.
| Wadworth - Farmers Glory | 4.70 | | Dark Mahogany colour, sweet with some hops,a nice pint. I would like to have tried it served without a sparkler. |
| Hop Back - Summer Lightning | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |

Very quiet on this Monday evening, we sat outside.
| Bryson's Brews - Hurricane Bitter | 4.10 | | A nice pint, pale copper colour, no head, tasty, some malt but not much hop and no finish. Not a great beer but would have liked another. |
| Hop Back - Summer Lightning | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |

Pleasant pub with nice interior. A different guest beer each week according to the barman.
| Daleside - Blonde | 3.90 | | Golden ale with a good aroma and a long hoppy finish. A nice beer. |

Busy. Quite a few people were sitting outside on the benches too.
| Jennings (since closure now brewed at Marston's) - Cocker Hoop (aka September Ale) | 4.60 | | Pale sandy yellow beer with short lived head. Very strong earthy, mustardy, bitterness with a well constructed malt undertone. Excellent. |
| Hop Back - Summer Lightning | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |

Came her mid evening with Jane, her mum and her brother. The pub garden was full of men in dresses singing rugby songs. We sat in the little green opposite the pub and drank our beer whilst being serenaded with a song about the sexual exploits of Yogi Bear.
| Hop Back - Summer Lightning | 5.00 | | The pub's guest beer. Excellent straw malt and green leaf herby hops. "That there" is back. |
| Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried | |
| Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |

Loverly pub interior with dark wood and a cosy feel. Friendly too.
| Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | | Very rich, slightly sickly sweet malty taste but it's got body |
| Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |

After a cold, windy but bright lunch time walk from Wingham it was good to get inside a warm pub. The interior is small but interestingly partitioned. Unfortuately the prevailing smell was of burning stale fat.
| Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | | Well served and quite pleasant but hey, it's Green King IPA |
| Greene King - Morland Old Speckled Hen | 4.50 | | I haven't had Old Speckled Hen in 10 years and perhaps this is why. |
| Adnams - Southwold Bitter (was 3.7%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | They'd run out |
